Castor oil - unrefined

Castor oil is produced from the seeds of castor oil plant. Nowadays it is underestimated as a cure with multiple uses. It is most frequently administered by mouth as an abstergent. Besides it is used in cosmetics as a hair conditioner to dry hair, easily breaking and falling eyelashes, nails and surrounding epidermis..

Castor oil is used in skin and hair care preparations. It creates an occlusion layer (a film), which protects against excessive evaporation of water from its surface (an indirect moistening effect), hence improving softness and making skin and hair smooth. It is also widely used to clean face with OCM method and in the production of lipsticks and lip glosses as it gives lustre. When added to creams, it makes them snowy white, but in soaps, it is responsible for their delicacy. The use of castor oil for eyelashes makes them healthier, stronger and more resistant towards the effects of make-up cosmetics.

Exemplary use of castor oil as eyelashes conditioner:

You may use your eyelash brush which should be precisely washed in warm water (it may also be scalded). Cleaned eyelashes should be smeared with brush soaked in castor oil. Excessive amount of oil may be disposed by wiping it off on a tissue or simply shaking it off. Apply on eyelashes in the same way as you do with mascara. Leave the oil on the eyelashes for a night so the oil may be absorbed. Wash it off in the morning with warm water. To achieve desired results it should be used regularly and for a long time. The effects should be visible after a few weeks..

Castor oil for hair:

In case of damaged and splitting hair you may smear them with castor oil for night. On the next day, in the morning, wash hair with a shampoo. Repeat this process for a few days. A different grandma’s way is to prepare a castor oil masque for hair: 1 spoonful of castor oil + 1 spoonful of olive oil + 1 yolk. A mixture prepared in this way should be applied on hair and covered with a cap (a plastic one) and wrapped up in a towel. This compress may be kept on a head for a few hours or for whole night. The head should be washed in the morning. In case of damaged hair, you may use castor oil as in standard oil process to improve its condition and shine. Apply oil on dry or wet hair, next put on the plastic cap or a hot towel – keep such masque for half an hour (the longer the better). Next, wash off the oil with a shampoo. The oils may be mixed freely. It is possible to add different oils to castor oil such as raspberry seed oil, linen oil, coconut oil or argan oil.

Castor oil for hands and nails:

If you have dry and damaged hands (skin and nails), it is worth trying castor oil. It will sooth and regenerate your hands and strengthen your nails. One of the most frequent uses of castor oil for hands care is applying it for night and putting on cotton gloves. In case of skin cracks it is recommended to apply the oil on the areas around nails at least once a week. Wipe the oil with a cotton bud, next push the skin back with a wooden stick and re-apply the oil.

Castor oil for legs:

The oil is great for tired and achy legs and for cornified as well as cracked heels. Castor oil moistens your heels – you just need to rub it and leave it for night. It may also be used for foot bath by adding it to water. After application skin on feet and legs will become soft and elastic.

  • oily skin: 30% of castor oil, 70% of base oil.

Base oil may be composed of different oils which are suitable for your type of complexion. Oils should be natural and cold-pressed..

First, wet your face with water, next rub prepared mixture in your face using round moves. Wet your towel in warm water, wring it and press slightly to your face.
