Cold-pressed borage oil is obtained from seeds of this plant. It is valued in Cosmetics for very high content of flavonoids, vitamins and minerals, tannins, mucus, carotene and organic acids such as malic, ascorbic and citric acids. When applied directly onto the skin, it easily penetrates deeply inside it and becomes transformed into prostaglandins which show regulating, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, protective and prevent pre-mature aging of the skin.
Properties:

• enhances lipidic barrier of the epidermis,
• inhibits the development of allergies and removes inflammatory conditions,
• also positively influences blood circulation, therefore, the structure and the look of the skin which becomes more elastic and obtains nicer colour.
The oil is recommended for the care of sensitive, mature and dry complexions. It influences firmness of the skin, increases elasticity, hence it has anti-wrinkle and also slightly exfoliating properties thanks to the presence of citric and malic acids. The oil is used in the treatment of skin aliments – acne, dermatosis and sun-burns.
